Customized Shortcut Icons, made by Dennis Fain

Compatible with Internet Explorer 5, 6 and 7*

*NOTE for Internet Explorer 7 users: Upgrading to Internet Explorer 7 creates a couple of bad registry entries that can be corrected by installing this registry fix: IE7_XP_Icon_Fix.reg, which simply restores them to their correct pre-IE7 upgrade state.

NOTE: To save ICON files, do not try to just save the images shown above or below... they are .GIF files for display only, not the actual .ICO (Icon) files you need for your desktop.  The icon files themselves actually contain the 3 or 4 different sized icons shown below in one single file - 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 used by various versions of Windows, plus the new 256x256 size used by Windows Vista. Windows decides which icon to use depending on the display mode.

Follow the instructions below the images to download and install them.

To download a GSH Real Estate^TM shortcut icon including:

1. Right-click on the following link: http://gladysfain.com/images/favicon.ico ,
   then click on "Save Target As..." (NOT "Save Picture As...") favicon.ico, then browse to the C:\Windows folder and click "Save".

   NOTE: If you choose to save the file somewhere else, remember that location and substitute appropriately in the remaining steps below, some of which you will have to do in a different manner that is beyond the scope of these instructions.

2. Create a shortcut on the desktop pointing to the desired page (instructions for that step not provided here):
       For the GSH Home Page, use: http://www.gsh.com
3. Right-click on the shortcut, choose Properties then Change Icon and navigate to C:\Windows\favicon.ico, then press "OK" to accept the icon, and "OK" again to close the shortcut properties window.
